Accessing the training

"How do I access the training?"

"Where can I book onto the training?"

"Do you do face-to-face training?"

The ZSA training is online e-learning, completely free and can be accessed at any time with no sign up required. You can browse our modules on our training page. 

Unfortunately we don’t have capacity to deliver training face-to-face. However, many of our members have delivered the group training using the online module and facilitating the session with time for questions and group discussion. If you would like to do this we can support by sharing certificates to recognise those who attended and took part.

Certificates

“Do I get a certificate at the end of the training?”

“I did not receive my certificate at the end of the training”

“I spelt my name wrong on my certificate, can I get a new one?”

At the end of our training, you will be asked to provide a name for a certificate and complete the training. If you cannot find your certificate, please check your downloads folder on your computer. Before you close down the training window, please check that you have spelt your name correctly, if you haven’t you can retype your name and download another certificate.

Is the training suitable for children or young people?

The ZSA training has been developed to be as user friendly and accessible as possible. However, the training has not been designed for young people specifically. You can learn about each of our modules on our training page.

In our Resources Library you will find international examples of excellent school based programmes which have been designed specifically for young people.

Issues with accessing the training

“I cannot open the training in my browser”

“The training is not working for me”

If you are experiencing any issues with the ZSA training, please make sure that you are using a supported browser. For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome. Our training modules will not work on Internet Explorer, as it is no longer a supported browser.

“The training won’t accept my postcode, what should I do?”

Your postcode will need to be written in capital letters with the space included, for example, L34 1PJ. Then use the enter button on your keyboard before selecting next.

Requesting training files

“Is there a way we can monitor how many of our staff are accessing the training?”

“We would like to have your training on our organisation learning management system (LMS)”

If you are an organisation looking to roll out our training to your staff, we are able to provide our training in SCORM file format free to any member organisations. The available modules are our suicide awareness training (20 minutes), gateway module, social isolation training (step up module) and our student edition. If this is something that you would be interested in having, please request our memorandum of understanding by contacting us using the subject 'SCORM file request'.

Definition: Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM). The SCORM standard makes sure that all eLearning content and learning management systems can work with each other.

Fundraising

“We would like to use the ZSA as our chosen charity for our event – how do we set up a fundraising page?”

“Why does it say on Enthuse that I will be fundraising for Mersey Care? We would like to fundraise for the ZSA”

The ZSA is hosted by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and funding for our work is received via the Mersey Cares NHS Charity. All donations received through Enthuse go towards supporting our suicide awareness and prevention work.

How is the ZSA funded?

We are hosted by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust charity and rely on fundraising and donations to ensure that we can continue in our mission to strive for a zero suicide society.

Does the ZSA link with the NHS?

Yes. The ZSA is hosted by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust charity. We follow NHS processes and comply with Government Service Standards. 

We are also proud to have worked closely with suicide prevention leaders from across the health and social care sector in the UK and beyond. We have more than 700 member organisations many of which are NHS trusts.

You can learn more about how you can get involved and support the ZSA on our Get Involved page. We currently don’t offer any volunteer opportunities but there are other ways you can get involved.

Training day

“Could you present your training at our event?”

“We would like a face-to-face or virtual training session with the ZSA”

As a small team, we are unable to facilitate training sessions in person or virtually.  Our training is online and can be completed in under 30 minutes. Many organisations choose to present our training as a facilitated training session using their own learning and development staff. This may be an option you wish to explore. If you would like to do this we can support by sharing certificates to recognise those who attended and took part.

Events and talks

If you have an event you would like us to attend please contact us and we will try to accommodate. Our team include a number of seasoned speakers who would be delighted to attend your event. We can also offer ZSA event stalls to organisations for fairs or conferences.
