The Life Rooms

The Life Rooms takes a social approach to improving health and wellbeing - learning, social prescribing, and community.

The Life Rooms help people who might have a housing issue, a question about employment, want lifestyle advice, or tips on how to exercise. Whatever it is, the Life Rooms aim to help someone take their next steps towards a healthier and happier life.

Its focus is on prevention and enabling the whole community – service users, carers, their families, and local communities – to bring about change. Its model of working aims to improve the health of the population and reduces pressure on clinical services.

Life Rooms offer courses, activities and support for adults in Walton, South Liverpool, Southport, and Bootle where people can access:

  • Learning: a wide range of courses for positive mental and physical health as well as cultural and creative opportunities
  • Social prescribing:  practical one-to-one support in areas like employment, housing, and debt
  • Inclusion: safe and welcoming environments.

It aims to provide practical advice and support to help people living in our communities feel happier and healthier both physically and mentally.

As an initiative hosted by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, The Life Rooms works alongside colleagues at the Zero Suicide Alliance and is a huge advocate of the ZSA’s work.

Through our daily interactions, we are passionate about supporting suicide awareness and prevention.

We provide access to ZSA suicide awareness training through our website and at our main sites.
