Mind - Swindon and Gloucestershire

Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind is a well-established, independent mental health charity affiliated with the national Mind federation. With over 30 years of service, we provide high-quality, compassionate mental health and wellbeing support across Swindon, Wiltshire, and Gloucestershire. Our work spans early intervention, prevention, recovery, and ongoing support. We work closely with statutory services, the voluntary sector, and local communities to ensure no one faces mental health challenges alone.

We are proud to have recently been commissioned to deliver a dedicated suicide bereavement (postvention) service across Swindon and Wiltshire. This service supports individuals, families, and communities who have been bereaved or affected by suicide, providing timely and person-centred support during what is often a complex and traumatic period. Alongside this, we deliver a wide range of community-based services including counselling, crisis support, group work, and workplace wellbeing training. All of our work is underpinned by lived experience, clinical insight, and a commitment to local partnership working

We are joining the Zero Suicide Alliance to stand alongside like-minded organisations in a collective mission to reduce suicide and its devastating impact on individuals and communities. We believe strongly in the power of shared knowledge, open dialogue, and coordinated action. Joining the Alliance will not only enable us to align our work with national best practice, but also help us contribute to the broader suicide prevention landscape with the insights we gain from supporting those bereaved by suicide.

As part of our organisational values and strategic objectives, we are committed to promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention across all areas of our work. This includes delivering public and professional training, engaging in community outreach, advocating for early intervention, and ensuring accessible, timely support for all those affected by mental health issues or suicide. Our newly established suicide bereavement service forms a central pillar of this pledge, ensuring those affected by loss receive holistic, respectful, and meaningful support.
