Event Description
A five-day challenge of 30km in Iceland - exploring the beautiful rift valley lake of Þingvallavatn, trekking through the fascinating Geothermal Valley; and a chance to see the awe-inspiring Northern Lights before celebrating your achievements in Reykjavík.
Join us on this breathtaking adventure as we explore Iceland, and possibly experience the spectacular Northern Lights! We’ll spend three days trekking through beautiful mountain scenery, geothermal valleys and via picture-perfect lakes. The trek will be challenging; hiking across snow-covered landscapes and conquering local mountain passes. However, the chance of witnessing the dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis will hopefully make our efforts all worthwhile. We’ll then celebrate our achievements in the bright lights of Reykjavík! Join us in the land of fire and ice on this memorable long weekend adventure!
Inclusive of return flights from London to Keflavik and transfers,
four nights accommodation and all meals on the trek, you will be supported by a local English speaking guide and Global Adventure Challenge leader from the UK; upon finishing you will receive a challenge medal.

What’s the upfront cost?
Global Adventures ask you to pay a registration fee of £250 at the time of booking.
How much am I expected to fundraise?
Global Adventures ask you to raise a minimum of £3,590 by the 11 December 2025. This supports the full challenge cost with Global Adventures directly and raises essential funds for ZSA.
Upon gaining your sponsorship, the charity is then invoiced the full challenge experience amount (£1,795) - and so all funds raised above £1,795 will be going directly to ZSA!) If you are unable to raise the minimum sponsorship, you will be asked to pay the outstanding directly to Global Adventures.
How do I set up a fundraising page?
You can simply set up your fundraising page here - this will set you up your own individual fundraising page in aid of ZSA and link you to the Global Adventures' Northern Light Trek Challenge; you are also able to join teams should you wish to do this challenge as a group.
